Alternative Weddings in Ireland

Across the continent Weddings are carried out very differently to the traditional Big Day in Ireland. Why not take some hints from our neighbours and go for an alternative wedding, at a fraction of the cost but without losing any of the grandeur.

One example of an alternative wedding is a "canapé wedding". The couple would get married later than is traditional in Ireland, at 4 or 5pm, with a special blessing carried out either in the house or garden. This would be followed by a champagne or cocktail reception and instead of a sit down meal, guests would be served a meal made up entirely of Canapés.

These would be served in the order of starters, mains and desserts with each guest having ample choice and selection. These are served as your guests mingle throughout the house. Later on guests would continue the party in the basement bar.

Buffet Weddings are also an alternative to the traditional sit-down meal. These can be done alongside Barbeques or Spit Roasts and take all the formality away from the meal.
