The house itself has been restored sympathetically to make it a modern yet historical house. It is full of eccentric cubby holes with unusual features.

The house was originally built by one of the Deans of St. Patricks Cathedral as a hunting lodge, and reputedly was home to the Very Reverend Henry Richard Dawson.
